Head lice? Not just in children!
Share
We're seeing it more and more often in our Amsterdam clinic (hoofdzorgkliniek.nl): head lice are no longer a "children's problem," but are also common among teenagers and adults. Girls and women, in particular, are reporting them surprisingly often. Think of sports teams, festivals, sleepovers, and busy social activities—head lice can easily spread there too.
Why are we seeing more adult women in the clinic? Longer hair, sitting together on the couch, or taking a selfie with friends: these are all moments when head lice can be transmitted. So it's important to be vigilant not only with young children, but also to regularly check the entire family—especially when your daughter is in high school or you're often in contact with others.
